A series of bespoke Benny seating solutions were developed to support a variety of breakout and social spaces within student accommodation at the University of Warwick. Designed for focus, relaxation and informal interaction, the seating is integrated across lounge areas, booths and shared environments, creating a cohesive and flexible student setting. The use of repeated forms across different configurations establishes a consistent visual identity while allowing each space to respond to its specific function.
The design is centred around the adaptability of the Benny seating system, tailored into multiple configurations including focus booths, arcade seating, reception areas and curved banquette arrangements. The consistent use of fluted back detailing introduces a strong visual rhythm, adding texture and depth while maintaining a soft, approachable aesthetic. A diverse yet balanced material palette enhances the character of each zone. Upholstery selections include Camira Synergy, Panaz Aston, Camira Mainline Flax, Camira Blazer, and Sunbury Canyon, introducing a mix of warm neutrals and vibrant accent tones such as burnt orange, blush pink and green-blue. Plinths, where included, are finished in durable materials such as Kronospan Anthracite MFC, ensuring longevity in high-use environments. The modular nature of the seating allows it to adapt seamlessly across different settings, from compact single units to larger curved banquette installations.
The result is a cohesive and engaging student environment that supports a wide range of activities, from quiet study to social interaction. The bespoke Benny seating creates comfortable, informal spaces that enhance the overall residential experience while maintaining a strong and consistent design language. Through flexible configurations, considered detailing and a rich material palette, the project delivers a contemporary seating solution tailored to modern student living.
